The Advanced Leadership Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of our President, Mr. Juan Verde, as a member of President Joe Biden’s President’s Export Council. In this council he will join, among many other personalities, the world presidents of companies such as Citibank, Qualcomm, United Airlines, Walgreens-Boots Alliance, Comcast, Ford, Disney, Boston Consulting, CVS, Deloitte, 3M, FedEx, Starbucks, among others. The President’s Export Council is an American government organization that serves as the principal national advisory committee on international trade. The Council advises the President of government policies and programs that affect U.S. trade performance; promotes export expansion; and provides a forum for discussing and resolving trade-related problems among the business, industrial, agricultural, labor, and government sectors.

This appointment is a clear recognition of the professional career of our president, who has already worked for three U.S. presidents, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and now Joe Biden. 

Juan Verde is an internationally renowned strategist for both the public and private sectors, with particular focus on green exports and attracting foreign direct investment to this field.

In the public sector, Mr. Verde served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia at the US Department of Commerce under President Barack Obama. In this capacity, Mr. Verde led the Department’s efforts to solve trade policy and market-access issues faced by US firms seeking to grow their business operations in Europe and Eurasia. Additionally, Mr. Verde previously served in the Department of Commerce during the Clinton Administration in both the International Trade Administration and the Minority Business Development Agency.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Verde has served as a consultant for a variety of prestigious companies, institutions, and governments, such as Santander Bank Investments, the Inter-American Development Bank, Harvard University, The World Bank and the governments of Lithuania, and Gibraltar as well as numerous governors and mayors in Latin America.

Apart from founder and President of the Advanced Leadership Foundation, currently, Mr. Verde is a member of the Board of Directors of HISPASAT, the leading satellite communications operator in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America, a member of Airbus Foundation Board of Advisors and the American Sustainable Network. Mr. Verde holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Boston University.
